Writing useful prompts
A little context saves a lot of back-and-forth.
Include four things
| Include | Example |
|---|---|
| Question | Which campaigns drove the CPA increase? |
| Scope | Nonbrand Search |
| Period | The last 14 complete days |
| Comparison | The previous 14 days |
Ask for a view you can use
Name a supporting metric when it changes the decision. A lower CPA with sharply lower lead volume deserves a different read from a lower CPA with steady volume.
For Nonbrand Search, compare CPA, conversions, and spend over the last 14 complete days with the previous 14. Show the daily trend and campaign breakdown.
Narrow the follow-up
- Focus on one campaign after reviewing the account-level movement.
- Ask about a specific change date instead of “recently.”
- Check a longer period if a one-day movement looks unusually large.
When a prompt does not match
Use the campaign’s exact name, state the dates, or remove an extra condition. Review the setup before opening it. You can always set the same view manually in Timeline.
